Anyone who uploads a video can see anonymous statistics about their videos’ audience, including size, location, and age of viewers and how they found your video. Hot Spots

Hot Spots shows the ups-and-downs of viewership at each segment of your video compared to videos of similar length. If the line is above the Average line, your video has a higher percentage of viewers still watching your video and/or more people rewinding to re-watch that part of your video than other videos of similar length. The higher the graph, the hotter your video at that point in time. If it’s lower than average, a higher percentage of people are dropping off of or fast-forwarding through your video.

Insight Hot Spots

Play your video alongside your Hot Spots graph to see what’s popular with your viewers and what doesn’t go over as well. For this to work, you must enable embedding for your video.


Insight Audience Attention is an overall measure of your video's ability to retain its audience. This is a good indicator of your video’s ability to hold viewers’ attention compared to videos of a similar length. This figure is calculated on a percentile basis, so if the bar is half shaded your video is doing a better job at holding audience attention than 50% of similar videos!

Because Hot Spots are determined through statistical sampling, you need to have a large number of views before we can provide a Hot Spots graph. Older videos need 600 or more views before a Hot Spots graph will be available. Videos uploaded in late March 2011 or after generally need closer to 300 views before a Hot Spots graph will be available. If you do not have enough views, your Hot Spots will report insufficient data and no Hot Spots graph will show
